DIY Smart Water Temperature Controller with Arduino Circuit Diagram Most storage-type water geysers available in the market for home use have such features, but some water heaters - especially rod-type water heaters - do not provide these facilities. They keep on heating water till they are switched off and thus consume lots of electricity, unnecessarily, and also heat the water much more than desired. Welcome to our channel! By using the Arduino Nano, 16ร2 display, DS1820B temperature sensor, buzzer, push button, single-channel relay, potentiometer, and mini water heater, you can create an impressive smart water heater setup. The central control role in this project is taken on by the Arduino Nano. The Aquanta doesn't work with tankless water heaters, so if that's what you have, consider the PowerX Water Monitor. It costs a bit more at $189 and requires a hub; you can bundle the controller and hub for $239. For folks with a fairly recent hot water heater, many brands offer an optional smart module. Important: Aquanta can control electric water heaters as well as those gas water heaters with electronic gas control valve (which represent the majority of the gas water heater installed base). If your gas tank has an old-style, mechanical control valve (like left picture), Aquanta will be able to measure the energy and provide most of its reporting features, but cannot control the heating element.
